The Bosco mural was a celebration of welcome in its most vivid form. Rooted in the pineapple as a centuries-old symbol of hospitality, the design translated that tradition into the bold, saturated language of Mexican pop art with oversized tropical leaves in electric teal, violet, and hot pink radiating outward from a central fruit held in an outstretched hand.
Installed on the exterior of Bosco in Greenwich Village, the mural turned a sidewalk façade into an open invitation, legible from across the street and impossible to walk past. This was the mural's second life after the original was tagged, the background was rebuilt and the work restored, because some things are worth doing twice.
Additional elements created by AMCS included two custom designed neon signage. One depicted the pineapple merged with a coupe glass that was positioned at the entrance. The second neon was a New York City sign in the brand's logo typeface that extended off the window onto the wall and down the sidewalk. It became a staple photography shot for guests and people walking by.
