Organic Wave Mural

This mural was born from a simple but beautiful intention — to create a space that could belong to everyone. Designed in collaboration with interior designer Diana Mui of d.m.teriors, the goal was to bring a sense of calm and airiness to a basement hangout space built for the teenagers of the home. The client wanted something elevated, something that would feel just as intentional and sophisticated to the adults walking through as it would feel playful and immersive to the kids living in it.

The result is a continuous, organic wave that moves through the main area of the basement level. It begins with a quiet, steady calm in the billiards area before slowly branching off in unexpected directions as it flows into the basketball court. The mural spans four walls and disappears behind the basketball backboard, turning every surface into part of one cohesive story. The design is intentionally free-flowing, with no hard edges or sharp transitions — just movement, like wind or water finding its own path through a space.

This project is a reminder of why working in private homes feels so special. These walls aren't in a gallery or a restaurant — they're where a family actually lives, where kids will grow up, where memories will be made. Getting to leave something handmade and meaningful in that kind of space is everything.
